
A gene is the basic physical and functional unit of heredity. Genes are made up of DNA, they act as instructions to make molecules called proteins. Every person has two copies of genes, one inherited from each parent.
How does a gene work?
~The gene has two main parts the protein coding sequence contains the structural blueprints for the protein. Many genes encode proteins that are unique to a particular kind of cell. Genes, through the proteins they encode, determine all body responds to challenges from the envorment.
